Avril Lavigne joins ex husband Deryck Whibley for dinner date

They've been officially divorced for a year, but Avril Lavigne and ex-husband Deryck Whibley are still as thick as thieves.

The 27-year-old singer and her ex-husband reunited last night over dinner at Italian eatery Madeo in West Hollywood.

Whibley, 31, had a big reason to celebrate: his band, Sum 41, was just nominated for a Grammy award in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category.
Avril couldn't resist tweeting her support for her ex yesterday, writing: 'CONGRATULATIONS @Sum41 for your Grammy nomination!!!!! So f***in cool. You guys deserve it!'

Avril wore a black denim jacket and an odd star-covered denim trousers; a grey hood covered her long blonde hair.

Deryck wore simple black pants and a T-shirt underneath a denim jacket, but added some flair by perching a captain's hat on his clown-coloured hair.

A dinner date for the two is nothing new, given that they also took a holiday together in Saint- Tropez this past summer.

She recently opened up about her oddly close relationship with her ex.

'I respect Deryck so much as an artist, and he produced several songs on [her new record] Goodbye Lullaby,' she told MTV.

'He did a really amazing job. We're great friends and I'm grateful for the relationship.'

Avril's boyfriend Brody Jenner also appears to be cool with the fact that she's so friendly with her ex-husband.

The two have been dating since early last year, and were most recently caught taking a romantic stroll in New York City together this past Tuesday.
